Academic Training
PhD students have to follow 240 ECTS/CFU (European Credit Transfer System/Crediti Formativi Universitari) of education and research activities during the 4 academic years (60 ECTS/CFU per year). 1 ECTS/CFU is equal to between 25 to 30 hours.
- A maximum of 10% should be spent on formal courses organized by the Faculty and on attendance of other educational activities including congresses, seminars, journal club and symposia. The distribution of these ECTS/CFU is not necessarily homogeneously distributed during the 4 academic years.
- Formal teaching programs include mandatory introductory courses meant for students with different backgrounds. See tables below for examples.
